Alright well, I didn't know if I'd make the gig or not (more info on the forum, not that anyone cares but I like writing about my life so sue me).
I did, and I didn't regret it. I've only seen LB live once, in 2004 I think, in Budapest, Hungary. It was with Mike and it was great (there's a review somewhere here in the news) but I always wanted to see them with Wes so I'm grateful for the opportunity.
Speaking of Wes, he's amazing live. Go see the band live if you can, he's the most energetic guitar player I've ever seen. He nails every riff while doing a lot of movement. I wouldn't be praising him if I wasn't impressed, so mark my words, he owns. I sat in 2nd row, to the right (right in front of him) and all I did was watch him play. Great, great stuff. I hope he noticed me too cause I'm 6'3" and was pretty close and it seemed he was looking at me as well, can't tell for sure cause of all the makeup.
The whole band was great, they sounded great, they were pretty fun. There was a funny moment when some guy ran on stage, danced and hugged with Fred then got an elbow in the chest from Wes (don't boo, fucker deserved it). Actually, Wes was really mad. Or so it seemed.
Overall I don't want to bore you. If you can see LB live, do it. At least for the sake of seeing Wes do his thing. If I ever had any doubts about Wes and his part in LB, now they are completely shattered. Wes IS the man.
The whole band still has it as a matter of fact. Great for the nostalgia factor.
